What: Discussion related to The Shalom Center‘s work to prevent the climate crisis from becoming a climate catastrophe, and instead move toward creating a planetary Beloved Community.
Our conversation will especially explore why the Jewish community is lagging behind some other liberal religious communities on public advocacy about moving away from fossil fuels, and how to energize Jews to do that.
Reb Arthur will report on The Shalom Center’s public activism rooted in the Earth-related origins and meanings of the Jewish festival cycle, and on our Move Our Money/Protect Our Planet (MOM/POP) campaign.

This laboratory will explore how Jewish eco-activists could work in the “Four Worlds” of reality (spiritual, intellectual, emotional/ ethical, and physical), drawing on Jewish thought and practice to help move the world away from climate catastrophe and toward a world of just, shared, and sustainable abundance.
